STROKE SCREENING
Carotid artery screening. These arteries supply blood flow to the brain. We use ultrasound to visualize the carotid arteries. The amount of fatty plaque depostion will be identified and quantified within these vessels to determine the risk for stroke.

PERIPHERAL VASCULAR DISEASE (PAD) SCREENINGS
PAD is the most common disease of the arteries. Fatty deposits or atherosclerosis cause a narrowing of the arteries making it difficult for blood flow to keep up with demand. We evaluate blood pressures and waveforms at the arms and ankles. Based on the values, an index number called an ABI is assigned to each leg. The ABI is an indicator for the presence and severity of peripheral arterial disease.

Each exam is administered by qualified, licensed, experienced, health care professionals. Results are reviewed and signed by our team of physicians. All results are confidential.
WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY RESULTS?
Patients receive immediate results and consultation.  In addition, we encourage anyone with vascular disease to take a proactive approach to reverse and prevent further progression. We can recommend follow up care with local physicians.
DOES MEDICARE OR HEALTH INSURANCE COVER THE COST?
At this time preventative healthcare screenings are not covered by Medicare or private health insurance. This is why we offer low cost screenings for these life saving exams. Most health care savings accounts will cover the cost of these exams. Check with your employer.
